Massachusetts is facing a $1.4 billion budget deficit for the current fiscal year. Next year's deficit is expected to reach $4 billion. Our collective bargaining rights are being challenged at the State House.
WE CAN'T WAIT TO ACT.
We need to be educated, organized and mobilized. Every one of our legislators needs to see and hear from SEA/MTA active and retired members - starting now. We must urge our state representatives and senators to:
Raise revenues to close the exploding budget gap and prevent disastrous cuts.Defeat legislative efforts to undermine collective bargaining to achieve "savings."Recession-proof our public schools by investing in public education.
