2008 Scholarship Winners

For many years now, the Springfield Education Association has presented one thousand dollar scholarships to five deserving scholars in the name of Meline Kasparian.  This year, the SEA is proud to award the first two one thousand dollar SEA/Peter Dupuis Alternative High School Scholarships in honor of Peter's dedication to the profession of teaching.

Meline and Peter were both dedicated educators concerned with the advancement of our profession through the empowerment of the practitioners.  The advancement of our profession translates to equitable, quality, challenging and properly funded environments for learning for all of our young citizens.  The SEA today continues to honor these educators' selflessness by conferring upon seven erudite students the aforementioned scholarships.  These students are proof positive that a well rounded education coupled with self-discipline and desire can produce amazing results.
